Ashwini told her story on Monday night to a crowd to learn about the susceptibility of harm and injury of speeding and reckless driving. “If you continue to drive like this, somebody you will die” she stated to the crowd.
Shock trauma victims Dilip Adhikari and Ashwini Gupta started a program in 2003 who are tired of perpetually seeing the injuries from speeding and reckless driving. They began offering the program in their own backyard for about two years and then took a break after the birth of their son. They later turned their earnest and conscientious activity with a program aimed at drunken drivers and then expanded their focus on speeders.
Ashwini said she wants people to know how rash driving can dramatically affect their lives. She wants them to see glimpses of indecent driving in video footages, which might make them change their driving habits. During the intense program, the videos and subject matter are sometimes shockingly repellent that participants leave the room.
Dilip told the class to imagine the sound of fingernails scratching a blackboard. Combining it 10 times, that sound does not even come close to the howls when an organ donation team approaches a crash victim’s family. Those screams can bring tremors to the structure of a building. He further added that he was the victim of a hit-and-run accident while he was walking out of with his wife Ashwini six years back. He was in a coma for a month and it took him three years to learn to walk again.
This was a small story depicting jeopardy. Both of them have managed to survive and passed through an intense phase, as they were not protected by insurance. There was a quote saying, “Why do we fall? So that we can learn to pick ourselves up”. The above-mentioned couple learned from their experiences and are now spreading awareness.
