I am sure everybody is aware of the canonical collection of Sanskrit as well as Pali (Buddhist) animal fables in verse and prose – Panchatantra. Therefore, I am going to tell you a story from the very canonical collection, which is by far so useful and so realistic in our today’s world. This is the story of a stupid monkey who tries to imitate two workers.
life is the happiest compromise between the natural and the artificial. It is a merry game between man and nature and village life is the most natural life for the human beings. The village is panorama of the charming scenes of nature as the scenery of the changing seasons has a profound effect on the village life. It brings a divine touch into human mind. Hence, it is full of divine beauty. Village life is plain and simple as natives are content with the necessities of life; they have no liking for luxury. They manage with a few pieces of clothes and plain food and discharge their social duties in the simplest manner possible. Villagers are mostly field-workers. They take to farming some of them are artisans and take to different callings of life. Some are priests, some are milkmen, some are oilmen, some are anglers, some are washer men and some are barbers and so on. They are not rich and wealthy but they have enough for their minimum requirements of life. Like that, two labourers were working to construct a temple when two monkeys came up with an idea to imitate their work from the branches of the tree. As afternoon descended, the two workers went for lunch and the monkeys came at the site to work. The monkeys were confused and they tried hard but could not understand what they were actually trying to do themselves. In no time, one of them was injured by spilling a brick on its feet. The workers came running as soon as they heard their pitiful laments. In the end, the worker told them to work as per their capabilities because imitating someone can bring danger to oneself.
like the monkeys, if you copy someone’s portfolio you may suffer losses. The financial goals and risk appetite varies from person to person, so you must align your portfolio keeping your requirements in mind.
